Would low apr credit cards help my credit rating?

Low apr credit cards will help your score rise! If you are lucky or persistent enough to apply for these and get them, good for you! I would limit myself to 3 or 4 though and keep a balance of 1/3rd of your credit limit on them at most, even if you have to spread your debt out some.

Also, the longer you have these types of accounts open, the better it is for you. I helped a friend get his credit errors cleaned up and he thought that by dropping some credit he didn't use often, that this would help his score. He wanted to get rid of a Sears Credit card account that was opened in 1978! This card had no balance and although it wasn't used often, it was his best credit report item showing a long credit history! After reviewing his account and just by asking, Sears made this one another of his low APR credit cards!

Remember to keep those accounts you had opened first current and open unless the interest rate is so ridiculous that the deal is not that great.

I've had accounts like this myself and closed them because after 6 months, I didn't need the reference anymore! The interest on this card of mine was 22.8% and there was no grace period for repaying the balance. Interest began to accrue immediately after the purchase. After 6 months however, it got me other offers that were much better deals and so this card was worth closing.

Your credit rating is more valuable than cash, and yes I know how that sounds! You are proving you can be responsible with money and that will get you the best credit card deals, especially in the rewards credit cards! There is another section you should look at here is this website called How Credit Scoring Works. It will fill in a lot of the blanks for you and solve some mysterious questions you wanted answers to.

Once you get approved for one of the credit offers you have been seeking, then you should understand how to improve your credit with these great credit offers

then you should also read and re-read the section on how credit scoring works until you memorise it! When making repairs to your credit, this information is something you cannot be without! Click here to go to the next section of low apr credit cards.
