Is free credit repair the right thing for you?
Free credit repair is possible and there are several blogs you can access on the internet where information is available.
Beware! There are a lot of places on the internet where "free" help is advertised, but all they want to do is steal your identity! This does not mean that all are like this and you just need to keep your eyes open.
You need to be aware of the most common credit repair scams if your going to enlist some of the "free" credit repair help out there. I'll include a link to Common Credit Repair Scams section above the link taking you to the next page of this section.
You really need to read the section on scams and arm yourself if your considering this method of credit repair!
Any place or site offering free repair to your credit that also wants to have you send them info such as your home address, social security number, credit card information or bank account numbers ans such should be a red flag! don't be afraid to ask questions if your unsure about who you are dealing with!
Any legitimate company will be more than glad to provide you with proof of services rendered and proff of licensing information. A company like Lexington Law Firm, which I mentioned in the credit repair specialist section where their banner link is also happens to be a member of the Better Business Bureau!
A free service may not have any such licensing or affiliations and I would be careful here about giving any of these personal information.
Look upon free repair services as a guide only and you should be fine!
The thing to remember here is to always use your better judgement and ask for referrals if you feel you need them.

I'm not trying to convince you not to use free credit repair services. Many of these are good ones and they do deliver what is promised. Just keep in mind that you will likely not get the attention you think your case deserves and this is because these services are usually very busy!
Most of these are from or operated by the Government and also have links to the Dept. of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. If this is what they claim as their affiliation, then ask them for proof. If they are telling you the truth, they shouldn't be at all hesitant to furnish you with the proof you ask them for.
